Drowned

Inside my chest,

I felt the wave again.

Dreadfully familiar.

I gasped for the

Invisible air —

Tried to hold my breath.

I wanted to run for the shore

except there isn’t one.

I wished to dance with the current

but I can’t submit to fate.

And so..

I froze, I surrendered.

I let the water well up my eyes

until there is none.

In the vast ocean of fears

I pulled myself down.
